DisEASE is built by a pharmacist and an engineering team, on the premise that the rules a clinician relies on should be verifiable, versioned, and the same every time.

  • Clinical Lead

    Trevor Karbowski, PharmD

    • Ambulatory care pharmacist and academic educator since 2020, with multiple specialty certifications in chronic disease management.
    • Repeatedly guided provider panels from bottom-quartile to top-tier EQM rankings.
    • Award-winning deprescribing and therapy-optimization work in dialysis populations.
    Why I'm building this

    I grew up in an under-resourced community and built my career around underserved patients. I have seen firsthand how suboptimal prescribing strains both the patient and the system trying to help. DisEASE is how I drive change at every level, from leadership decisions to the visit that actually changes a life.

  • Technical Lead

    Kenton San Miguel

    • Designed and built the EVIDENCE CHAIN and RAG pipeline that turns raw clinical sources into pharmacist-verified clinical-concept chunks.
    • Built the Rules Builder UI that lets pharmacists author and ship rules without an engineering bottleneck.
    • Translates clinical insight into engineering reality so the science is not diluted by software constraints.
    Why I'm building this

    Most of what I do is give clinicians honest information about what AI is: where it works at the point of care, where it does not, and how to tell the difference. The map between trust and caution is the product I care about building.

  • Infrastructure Lead

    Wade San Miguel

    • Architected the Clinical Weights Algorithm that was later integrated into the EVIDENCE CHAIN and Rules Builder UI.
    • Architected the AWS cloud platform, cloud security, and CI/CD pipeline that runs DisEASE in production.
    • Built infrastructure to HIPAA security standards that keeps clinical data isolated, auditable, and encrypted end-to-end.
    Why I'm building this

    I engineer secure-by-design clinical platforms grounded in resilience, traceability, and zero-trust security. The goal: clinical and product teams ship fast without compromising data or trust.
