DisEASE's standard workup is designed so PHI never enters the system: you enter de-identified clinical data only. In EHR-launched sessions, chart data pre-fills the workup for the duration of the session and is not retained after the session ends. Our infrastructure is built to HIPAA security standards, all data transmission is encrypted, and we never store patient-identifying information.

No. DisEASE is stand-alone and fully usable without EHR integration. For Epic organizations, DisEASE is also available as a provider-facing SMART on FHIR app: clinicians launch it from the patient chart, and the workup pre-fills from chart data. See our Epic on FHIR documentation for details.

Every recommendation ships with a per-rule trace log: which pharmacist-verified rules fired, what evidence they cite, and how they combined into the final ranking. Same inputs always produce the same recommendation. DisEASE is built by practicing clinicians and pharmacists, grounded in current evidence-based guidelines, and continuously improved through provider feedback.

No. Drug rankings come from a deterministic scoring engine verified by clinical pharmacists, so the same patient inputs always produce the same scores. Dr. EASE, our AI assistant, explains the ranking, answers questions, and retrieves FDA labeling or trial data. It cannot rewrite the score or fabricate a recommendation.

DisEASE currently supports Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension, and Heart Failure (both reduced and preserved ejection fraction).

No. DisEASE is designed for adult patients age 18 and older and should not be used to guide pediatric treatment. Age-specific pediatric factors are not included in the scoring engine.

Only the clinical data fields provided in the form (age, labs, comorbidities, allergies, current therapies, and other clinical signals). Do not enter anything that identifies the patient, such as a name, date of birth or record number.
